Specialization in tailings dams investigation/design/operation/closure, open pit rock mechanics, acid rock drainage, environmental control and compliance and risk management. Serves on numerous Technical Review Boards for mine and mining companies as well as regulatory agencies.
After being a founding member of Steffen, Robertson & Kirsten (name changed to SRK Consulting) in 1974, emigrated to Canada in 1977 and established SRK Consulting Canada. Provided consulting geotechnical engineering services to the mining industry world wide.
