Platinum could outperform palladium: Deutche Bank
Platinum could fare better than palladium for the rest of the year Deutsche Bank argues in its latest commodities report:
"While we do not expect a meaningful recovery in European auto markets [where diesel cars that use platinum account for the bulk of sales], we do expect some stability in demand over the next couple of quarters or so. Furthermore we expect that platinum supply could see further cutbacks as economic/social pressures in South Africa mount.
"Furthermore, we expect that platinum could benefit from a stronger gold price, which is anticipated to appreciate in the second half of 2012 as we look for further rounds of accommodative monetary policy to support global growth."
