Job Description
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is an integral role within Financial Reporting and the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP & A) Team. The main purpose of this position is to provide performance reporting, budgeting/forecasting, analysis and business support to operations for Redpath - Americas (Canada, Indonesia, Mongolia and United States). An essential part of the role is to ensure connectivity and alignment with Finance, Project and Department Leads. In this context the jobholder will be expected to work with all of these functions in both a support and influencing/challenging capacity. This role will lead and sponsor process creation, improvement initiatives, and changes within Redpath.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all monthly financial management information (MI) used by Finance and Accounting teams to help monitor and drive performance improvements.
- Provide timely and insightful analysis that illuminates performance and trends as well as serves as early indicator of risks/opportunities to delivery.
- Identify and analyze underlying performance variances against forecasts, plan and/or prior year and follow-through on lines of enquiries/investigations as well provide recommended courses of action.
- Actively participa te and support the monthly Redpath closing cycles, including the preparation of forecasts, annual plan, and related reporting and analyses.
- Support the business by ensuring management and teams are provided with sufficient data, analysis and support for plans, forecasts, and business initiatives to enable performance delivery and enhanced decision-making.
- Assist external and internal partners in troubleshooting any issues and escalations
- Assist in determining the functional reporting needs and requirements and review data integrity
- Collaborate to complete workload for department including ad-hoc project deliverables
- Lead and/or participate in complex inter-domain projects
- Maintain all process documentation including Job description and performance evaluations
- Identify and resolve escalations or complex issues with strong emphasis on associated patterns, trends, and root cause analysis
Qualifications
Education
Required: University degree in Accounting, enrolled in a professional accounting designation program
Preferred: University degree in Accounting with an accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA or CPA)
Work Experience
Required: Minimum of three (3) years of postgraduate experience in accounting or finance
Preferred: Three to five (3-5) years post graduate experience in accounting or finance with experience/understanding of IFRS and corporate tax.
