About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of passionate professionals working with EVR’s Water Treatment technologies (Active water Treatment Facilities, Saturated Rock Fills, Antiscalant Addition Facilities and Reverse Osmosis – High Density Sludge treatment facility). These facilities represent some of the most advanced selenium and nitrate removal and calcite prevention technologies in the world. This position will be part of a team of hard-working professionals in a growing and technically exciting field to advance the objectives of EVR’s Elk Valley Water Quality Plan!
Reporting to the Lead Systems, Environment Water Treatment, the Coordinator, Environment Water Treatment Systems is responsible for supporting the systematization and implementation of regulatory requirements and coordinating the environmental incident database and related documents management for EVR’s water treatment facilities. This role plays an important part in maintaining compliance related to our obligations and preventing environmental incidents and non-compliances.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Collaborate with, and develop and maintain working relationships with various disciplines and departments, as well as external agencies and communities of interest
- Use systems and processes to track, implement and meet obligatory requirements
- Develop training and awareness materials and deliver presentations to various departments
- Coordinate multidisciplinary problem-solving sessions related to compliance and known risk sources to implement a variety of corrective and preventive action plans
- Track and report on progress against compliance metrics
- Provide visible felt leadership through frequent collaboration between departments
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Environmental Science or similar subject area
- Experience in the field of environmental compliance or monitoring in the water treatment or resource management fields
- Experience providing technical direction on environmental risks and challenges associated with resource management
- Comfort with influencing and supporting practical and process change management across various disciplines and departments
- Technical knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, standards, and effective industry practices related to water management and resource development
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
- Experience with environmental data management, analysis, reporting, utilizing databases and proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite® is an asset
- Knowledge of environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, water quality, water treatment, or fisheries is an asset
- Experience in water treatment is an asset

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
