Diesel Fitters for the new Jwaneng Underground Mining Development Project.

Basic Function Of The Position
- role as a Diesel Fitter is to Ensure all mobile and fixed mechanical equipment on site is maintained to the approved safety standards and mechanical availability/reliability is optimised.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Keep the Advisor aware of the state of equipment in the mine in particular with respect to potential problem areas;
- Servicing of equipment as per service schedules;
- Repairs to equipment efficiently and consistent with the required standard of work;
- Ensure that tasks allocated by supervisor are carried out efficiently and promptly;
- Correctly use and maintain all tooling and equipment while performing duties;
- Maintain and enhance the skills and knowledge necessary to competently perform required duties; and
- Assist operational and trades teams as required and within competencies.
Minimum Qualifications And Experience Required For This Position
- Driver’s Licence.
- First Aid & CPR certificate.
- National Craft Certificate
- Minimum 5 years’ underground mining experience
- Experience needed on all mobile equipment for maintenance purposes.
- Knowledge and application of safe and reliable mechanical maintenance practices to maximise equipment availability and productivity;
- In-depth and extensive knowledge and application of contemporary underground mining practices to maximise safety and productivity.
