Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, this position will play a key role in the development, implementation and maintenance of our Health and Safety Programs companywide.
This position can be based at our corporate office in Chicago or on a remote basis with travel to our sites as required:
Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive health and safety program strategy to ensure a culture of zero harm to people, our community, to the environment; and ensure operational effectiveness is validated by a management operating system.
- Identify, develop plan, and execute technical improvement projects across a multi-disciplinary team to achieve annual corporate health and safety objectives, to address emerging risks, to address regulatory changes and operational needs.
- Design, implement, and oversee corporate-wide H&S programs to ensure compliance with MSHA regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies.
- Develop and standardize safety policies, procedures, and training programs across all mining operations, ensuring alignment with best practices and to ensure the programmatic design of programs are met.
- Influence and coach site leadership on execution of robust health and safety programs to improve safety and foster full employee engagement.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by driving employee engagement initiatives and leadership training.
- Foster a continuous improvement, think big, innovative culture through the organization to achieve Best in Class practices and results.
- Develop a robust set of leading indicators which serves to focus on the correct areas for mitigating risks and producing excellent health and safety results within business operations.
- Provide corporate guidance and support plans for due diligence and new acquisition integration with respect to health and safety programs.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety or engineering or related discipline.
- Ten or more years of health and safety corporate leadership experience in mining, manufacturing or other related environments preferred
- Proven experience in developing, implementing, and administering corporate safety programs.
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making
- Demonstrated ability to take broader themes and transform them into tangible actions.
- Strong project management skills.
The salary range offered for this role is USD $170,000-$180,000 range. The salary range is a good-faith estimate. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Coeur Mining will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Coeur Mining.
