About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Lead, Projects, the Project Engineer is responsible for leading various aspects of projects including the scoping, planning, and execution stages while engaging with sites to provide delivery support.

We require someone who has strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and schedules across the portfolio, including leading and supporting the transition of current projects into operation through effective operational readiness management, commissioning, and start-up planning
- Execute mining, plant, environmental and tailing related projects on-site involving coordination and planning in the field, with contractors and internal operating departments
- Advise and support operational staff to ensure alignment and engagement throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with site operational teams to facilitate project delivery and align effective management
- Enable efficient decision processes through information gathering, collaboration, analysis, and providing recommendations
Requirements:
- Engineering degree in civil, chemical, mechanical or a combination of equivalent experience and related certification
- Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
- Minimum four years of project work experience including all aspects of project management, engineering design, construction, and commissioning
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite®: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience in project frameworks, project cost control, team alignment, implementation rollouts, and effective operational collaborator engagement with internal resources and external contractors is considered an asset
- Experience working in mining or similar heavy industry is considered an asset

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
