Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Asset Protection, Senior Logistics Supervisor, you will be part of the Asset Protection Department. You will be accountable for day-to-day security operations at the Cochrane Bus Terminal. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Access control monitoring and coordinating employees entering/leaving the mine site and or high security areas;
- Responsible for Security of our Cochrane based terminal physical property and intellectual property, safeguarding the physical safety of all personnel;
- Completion of daily notes and thorough incident reports;
- Operation and comprehension of X-ray screening device;
- Oversee and/or conduct searches of persons, property and coordinating onsite investigations as required;
- Mobile and foot patrols of Agnico Eagle properties;
- Assist in security execution operations, coordinate and respond to all terminal-based emergencies, and organize and conduct medical transport as required;
- Aid in the prevention of theft, vandalism, trespassing and any other actions that may disrupt the safe and secure operation of the mine site;
- Contribute to the implementation, compilation, and review of security-related documents;
- Administrative duties including but not limited to all related daily documentation;
- Monitor security policies, programs, or procedures to ensure compliance with internal security policies, licensing requirements, or applicable government security requirements, policies, and directives;
- Ability to liaison with local authorities and outside agencies as required;
- Maintain compliance of all security processes and procedures;
- Conduct any additional security related tasks and investigations as directed by Agnico Eagle Asset Protection Management.
What You Need To Succeed
- Valid Ontario Private Security and Investigative Services Issued Security Guard License is mandatory;
- Degree, diploma or certificate in Police Foundations, Law and Security Administration or a related program is an asset;
- Police/Security training at an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in a security or Police related role is essential;
- Prior law enforcement, military, or intelligence background an asset;
- Advanced knowledge in investigations, interviewing, and report writing is essential;
- Practical experience with risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and management in emergency situations;
- Strong communication skills in daily interactions and ability to formally present ideas to the Senior Asset Protection Management team;
- Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace;
- Willingness to obtain Certified Protection Officer (CPO) designation is required;
- Continued education in relevant field of study is mandatory to maintain CPO designation;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work at our Detour Lake mine site, followed by 14 days off;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
