Civil Engineer Position
Description of Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical analyses and design foundations, embankments/cuts, and earth-retaining systems for mining, water, and energy projects.
- Manage projects, including technical deliverables, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate smaller teams of engineers and technicians to ensure project milestones are met.
- Prepare and review supporting engineering calculations, models, and methodologies.
- Interface with clients and conduct site visits/inspections as necessary.
- Actively engage in the development and advancement of SRK’s engineering practice.
- Take responsibility for business development activities.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff.
- Perform other duties as required.
Key Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of three years of experience in the mining industry, preferably in a professional consulting environment.
- Preferred industry experience: Geotechnical engineering.
- Ability and desire to collaborate with technical specialists in mining, geochemistry, geotechnics, groundwater, and environmental disciplines within a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
- Proficiency in civil engineering design software and methodologies (e.g., Python).
