We are looking for a Process Control Engineer to form an integral part of a small, close-knit team. Reporting to the Specialist – Process Control, you will be responsible for
- Working with stakeholders to identify and implement process control solutions which improve safety, cost and production outcomes.
- Documenting and maintaining process control applications, systems and procedures.
- Alarm system management and rationalisation within a given work area.
- Troubleshooting and operational support for day-to-day refinery issues and maintenance.
- Assisting in training operating personnel and maintainers on effective system usage.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in a relevant engineering subject (Chemical, Metallurgical or Electrical)
- Previous experience in a Refinery, Manufacturing or Processing facility.
- Experience with Honeywell control systems (Experion and TPS), Honeywell APC Forge and/or Schneider PLCs (Unity) would be highly regarded.
- Experience with network administration and virtualisation would be beneficial.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to resolving system issues.
- Experience in stakeholder management and prioritising work fronts.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Where you’ll be working
Located in Central Queensland, approximately 10km north-west of Gladstone, Yarwun alumina refinery commenced operations in 2004. Processing bauxite from our mines in Weipa and Gove, Yarwun produces more than three million tonnes of smelter grade alumina annually.
As one of the largest industries in the Gladstone region, Yarwun employs over 700 people and has a large contractor workforce.
With a focus on safely improving our process every day, the team at Yarwun challenge themselves to use existing and emerging technology to support our 24 hour operation.
