Oyu Tolgoi is one of the most exciting projects in copper and gold mining for several decades. It contains reserves and resources that make it one of the world’s largest known copper and gold deposits. The project, managed by Rio Tinto, is expanding underground. The Opportunity
We are looking for
Principal Advisor Asset Management to support the UG Mine Asset Management teams. Primarily coaching and mentoring the national leaders in all aspects asset management and leading the team to become best in class regarding asset management fundamentals. This is a senior role that requires suitable background experience in large complex UG mine operations.
What The Role Entails
This role is a great opportunity to take the next step in your career on a truly global project. Working 5 days on, 2 off roster residential in Ulaanbaatar and FIFO to site. The role will report to the Senior Manager UG Maintenance and will be primarily responsible for,
- Providing expert guidance on asset management to the UG Mine Maintenance team. This includes all streams (Fixed Plant, E&I and Mobile Maintenance),
- Provide management support to the national leaders,
- Oversee the development and implementation of best practice asset management principles in line with the RT AM Framework,
- Project manage asset management improvement initiatives,
- Overseeing AM performance reporting, working with the respective AM teams to address shortfalls,
- Engaging stakeholders and contractors to ensure asset management activities are performed safely and in accordance with Rio Tinto standards and procedures,
- Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation, and improvement, and
- Lead the UG maintenance team to become Rio Tinto and industry leaders in asset management.
What You Will Need For This Role
To succeed in this role, you will have
- Applicable asset management qualification. Ideally degree qualified or trades background with significant applicable industry experience,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, must be able to coach and mentor developing leaders,
- Ideally certified in ISO55001 standard, e.g. CAMA certified through WPiAM,
- Recognized as an industry leader in asset management,
- Extensive eexperience in asset management systems and processes associated with large complex UG mine operations,
- Experience in managing change related to asset management implementation and improvement,
- Experience in applying asset management fundamentals is essential,
- Have strong communication skills and proven ability to engage and build relationships across multiple layers of the organization from management to front line leaders and technicians and operators, and
- Have strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
