About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Engineer Supervisor, Integrated Operations, the Mining Engineer is responsible for coordinating with site-based and supply chain departments to develop mine plans and improve the efficiencies within the supply chain in an innovative, creative and data-driven manner.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, who can coordinate and build positive relationships with both the mine and the broader supply chain. This person has strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills, and can schedule and prioritize competing demands in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Strong time-management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team setting is vital.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Support 24-month mine plans, supporting presentations and documentation, design work and scenario analysis, as well as providing support for related capital forecasting, cost modelling, raw coal and clean coal blending
- Analyze data and develop dashboards to inform and support business decision making
- Ensure mine plans are coordinated with technical marketing, logistics and other considerations
- Perform economic analysis and cost estimating as well as assist with production and cost reporting, tracking, and invoicing
- Integrate and connect with other sites, logistics, and marketing groups to develop the best overall plan
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering with Mining, Civil, Geological or Geotechnical specialization, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Eligible for registration or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. (EGBC); EVR will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
- Minimum five years of well-rounded experience using statistical analysis to improve modelled input assumptions in mine planning, mine design, quality considerations and process plant assumptions
- Proficiency in mine design software
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
- Strong digital proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite®: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
