Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be part of the Human Resources Department. You will be a key member of our mine senior site leadership team, based at our Detour Lake Mine. You will provide strategic and tactical leadership, coordination and oversight of all HR. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Employee Relations, Culture and Communication
- This position requires an onsite presence at the mine and is approachable and highly visible throughout the organization;
- Develop and execute employee relations and culture development plans. Fosters a positive, inclusive and supportive work environment;
- Ensure a highly collaborative approach is enabled with employees and other key stakeholders;
- Develop and implement Indigenous Recruitment and Training Strategies and Work-Plans;
- Provide advice, support and coaching to management, employees and the Joint Collaboration Committee;
- Develop employee communication plans with Internal Communications. Works closely with mine site management to ensure effective execution.
HR Management
- Ensure compliance with Company and regulatory requirements;
- Collaborate with functional HR leaders in Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Wellness & Recovery, Project Management and Compensation to ensure the effective delivery of key HR programs;
- Ensure that Detour Lake’s Partner Nation Agreements related to employment and training are appropriately managed;
- Prepare, analyze and action HR reports and trends, ensuring a cycle of continuous improvement.
Talent Management
- Ensure talent requirements are achieved through appropriate attraction, recruitment and retention methods;
- Execute key talent programs for the mine site, including performance management and evaluations, succession planning and individual development planning;
- Execute mid-year and year-end compensation programs;
- Lead the development of short and mid-term workforce plans and cost models.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management or Human Resource field;
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Human Resources, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a management capacity with a focus on culture, engagement and employee relations;
- Located, or willing to relocate, in Northern Ontario to ensure close proximity to the mine site;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels;
- Experience working with Indigenous and First Nation communities is essential;
- Experience working in a highly collaborative and evolving work environment;
- Experience as a trusted coach to employees and managers at all levels;
- Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) or Executive (CHRE) preferred;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4 days of work at our Detour Lake mine site, followed by 3 days off with potential flexibility to be based part-time at a Regional Office in Northern Ontario;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
