Job Description
We are looking for a visionary entrepreneurial Vice President of Commercial Development to transform our existing business, connecting our technical expertise in super materials to new relationships and partnerships with other technology leaders and innovators, achieving high value commercial solutions. You will identify and capitalise on new, high impact business opportunities leveraging E6 core competencies, redefining our ability to drive additional value developing solutions in existing and new sectors for E6. The ideal candidate will bring a commercial mindset to accelerate growth for the business – combining an innovative and start up mindset with a strong focus on materially impacting the bottom line.
You will have operated across a competitive international environment with knowledge of industries and markets sectors which will benefit from our products and services with proven experience of identifying future business trends and markets and translating them into effective growth strategies.
In this pivotal role you will be at the forefront of our commercial strategy, driving business growth. Excellent and inspiring leadership, decision-making and the ability to work collaboratively across functional and global structures are vital for this role.
Ultimately, your expertise in the role of the Vice President Commercial Development will be crucial in expanding our market presence and achieving our ambitious goals.
Specific requirements include:
- Develop and implement a commercial strategy aligned with our 5 year plan which aims to realise ambitious revenue growth in our business
- Work closely with government and agency connections in the US in the initiation and creation of policy to promote and accelerate the value our technology can bring to emerging markets
- Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (business development, innovation, marketing, sales, customer service) to align commercial initiatives with overall business objectives to accelerate opportunities
- Build and maintain profitable partnerships, expanding product and service reach as the relationship develops
- Monitor performance, efficiency and quality of the commercial strategy using key metrics and delivery reports for the Executive Team
- Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
- Identify and address issues, risks and opportunities which can affect business performance and growth
- Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders including board members, advisors, investors, customers, suppliers, industry specialists, regulators and employees.
- Represent and promote the business, enhancing brand awareness in existing and new markets and geographical regions.
- Demonstrated track record of establishing or scaling business units or startups in high growth environments
- Ensure adherence to company policies and legal guidelines
Qualifications
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a senior commercial development role, preferably within a high growth industry/sector
- Deep understanding of the high-tech ecosystem on the West Coast including technology trends, customer dynamics and key stakeholders
- Commercial awareness partnered with a strong entrepreneurial mindset
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem solving abilities
- Proven experience in establishing new business relationships and evolving numerous business opportunities
- Demonstrated success in driving business growth and achieving targets
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities
- International experience with proven demonstration of bringing new products to market
- MBA or relevant advanced Business degree
- A Technical degree in related areas of Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Semiconductors, Photonics or Physics would be advantageous.
