Assurance & Advisory (A&A) is Teck’s internal audit enterprise function, which reports directly to the Audit Committee of Teck’s Board of Directors. The Assurance Senior role will report to the A&A Manager. The successful candidate will be an experienced assurance/audit professional, specifically with experience in conducting risk and control audits in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) / NI 52-109 (CSOX) and holds a CPA designation from a professional accounting firm or equivalent experience in industry. Applicants are preferred to be bilingual in English and Spanish and have a natural curiosity to understand how risks are managed and a passion for continuous improvement.
A&A team’s vision is to be trusted and insightful business partners, that deliver actionable and timely risk, control and governance insights and foresights to support Teck’s strategic objectives of core excellence and resilience and enable desired business performance outcomes. The A&A team operates as a multi-disciplinary pool of resources, who work in project teams to deliver risk-based assurance engagements, which include the annual audit of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and quarterly audit of Disclosure Processes & Controls (DC&P). As a valued member of the A&A Team, the Assurance Senior will interact with Teck’s operations, development projects, and supporting enterprise business functions around the world. The A&A Team works with both internal and external customers to deliver the annual risk-based internal audit plan to drive and promote positive change through our actionable insights. This role will also support the delivery of initiatives with peers in the Team to enable the achievement of our function’s strategic objectives.
