About Mt Arthur Coal

Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the operation in maximising the availability of the sites Earth Moving Equipment through robust reliability improvements and maintenance planning.
An analytical problem solver with the ability to manage long term projects and priorities and has demonstrated experience in driving change will be successful in this role.

Reporting to the Manager your accountabilities include:

• Create a culture where safety is a priority, people are inspired and empowered to deliver superior performance.
• Lead a team of Maintenance Planners responsible for short- and long-term maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Lead a team of Reliability Engineers and drive the continuous improvement of the fleet.
• Identify long-term opportunities for improvement through focussing on equipment reliability
• Own and govern the Maintenance Strategies of the fleet, to maximise their value from now until the end of mine life.
• Work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to drive equipment and maintenance performance outcomes.
• Lead and facilitate Equipment Reliability, Failure Analysis and RCM.
• Champion Management of Change process for all maintenance related changes.

This role is based at our Mt Arthur site on a Monday to Friday basis (with flexibility). This is a residential opportunity where you will enjoy the exceptional lifestyle of the Hunter Valley region.

About You

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role would be favourable.
• Extensive experience in applying reliability principles in mining, minerals processing or similar heavy industry environment
• A trade background of degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management or an extensive related experience will be advantageous
• Capable of working at all levels of business and proficient at Superintendent/Management levels
• Demonstrated ability to lead and problem solve – make plans, take initiative to identify improvements and implement effectively
• Experience leading and coaching teams and direct reports
