Your Impact
As Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence across the LATAC Region (Peru, Argentina, Suriname, Mexico, and the Caribbean). Your leadership will be instrumental in driving consistency, accuracy, and compliance in service delivery. By fostering team engagement and optimizing performance, you will directly impact the quality and efficiency of goods and services procured, supporting broader business objectives.
As Part of Our Team, You Will
- Lead, coach, and manage a regional team of outsourced Sourcing & Procurement (S&P) professionals supporting the LATAC region, with delivery centers located in Mexico and India.
- Act as the S&P Process Champion for LATAC and serve as the primary point of contact for service delivery across the region.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure adherence to governance standards and service level expectations.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including regional and site leadership, Supply Chain, Accounts Payable, Finance, Legal, and Tax teams.
- Foster continuous collaboration with both internal teams and shared service providers to ensure alignment and efficiency.
- Lead the resolution of escalated issues from internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Support and enforce compliance with Newmont's standards, policies, and procedures in partnership with site Supply Chain and key stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with SOX requirements and internal control frameworks.
- Champion continuous improvement and lead cross-site synergy initiatives, ensuring regional implementation is aligned with legal, regulatory, and operational considerations in each country.
- Contribute to the design, testing, and successful implementation of system and process enhancements.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid experience in sourcing, contracting, procurement, and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, with a track record of leading high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
- Experience in mining, oil & gas, or shared services environments is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to lead with integrity and foster collaboration across diverse teams and cultures.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken).
Your Work Environment
- This role is open to qualified candidates located near Newmont’s LATAC hubs, including Peru, Argentina, Suriname, and Mexico.
- You will be part of Newmont’s Enterprise Shared Services team (formerly Procure-to-Pay [P2P]), collaborating with colleagues across both onshore and offshore locations.
- The role is dynamic and cross-functional, combining a strong focus on operational excellence with people leadership.
- You will work closely with internal business partners to ensure that Sourcing & Procurement outcomes align with Newmont’s global standards.
