Vice President, Operations - Latin America

Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations, the Vice President, Operations (the VP) is responsible for developing and implementing the Company’s annual operational plans to ensure the safe and efficient operations of each mine within the region. The VP will determine the operational strategy, goals, and priorities of four mines across Latin America, and will lead and direct members of the operational management team in the development and execution of strategies, plans, programs, and processes that meet the Company’s operational and sustainability goals.
The successful candidate is a mining executive with 20 or more years of progressive leadership and technical experience with a mid-tier or larger precious metals mining company operating underground mines in multiple international jurisdictions, preferably in South America. Prospective candidates will possess significant international operations experience as a General Manager, and have expertise in operational excellence, cost management, and safety. Additional experience with capital project development and supporting corporate development teams through project valuation and due diligence is preferred. Additionally, the VP requires experience in managing labour relations, permitting issues, general administration, and leading high-performance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead operations across four mines in Latin America, ensuring world-class safety, cost control, and production results.
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with corporate goals.
- Mentor and hold high-performing regional teams accountable.
- Promote technical best practices and operational excellence initiatives.
- Support corporate development, project evaluation, and due diligence.
- Ensure effective communication with executive management on operational performance.
Qualifications:
- 20+ years of progressive mining leadership in underground operations, including 5+ years as a General Manager.
- Experience with mid-to-large mining companies operating in multiple jurisdictions, ideally Latin America.
- Proven record in operational excellence, safety leadership, cost management, and team development.
- Strong understanding of project development, permitting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Fluent in English and Spanish or Portuguese; international experience in Latin America strongly preferred.
