Job Description
As a Stores Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and production supply chain. Your main responsibilities will include receiving and storing goods, preparing materials for production, and keeping inventory records accurate and up to date
Key Responsibilities
Receive deliveries and check items against delivery notes
- Ensure all incoming goods match the delivery documentation in terms of quantity and condition.
Label and store goods in the correct locations
- Accurately label items and place them in designated storage areas to maintain order and traceability.
Assist with picking and preparing materials for production orders
- Select and prepare the correct materials needed for manufacturing, ensuring timely availability.
Keep the stores area clean, safe, and well-organised
- Maintain a tidy and hazard-free environment to support safety and efficiency.
Help with stock checks and inventory updates
- Participate in regular stock counts and assist in updating inventory records to ensure accuracy.
Support packing and dispatch of goods for shipment
- Prepare items for shipping, including packaging and labeling, to meet customer and logistics requirements.
- Assist with picking and packing of machines and spare parts
- Booking in items on Sales Orders when picked so inventory is correct
Support the shipping process
- Assist with documentation and coordination of outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Assist with documentation and coordination of inbounds shipments
- Assist with IPR and CDS reporting where necessary
Use inventory systems to book in goods and record stock movements
- Learn and use software system to track inventory transactions and maintain accurate records.
Assist with basic purchasing tasks when needed
- Help with ordering supplies or materials as directed, supporting procurement activities.
Operate a forklift (training and certification provided if required)
- Safely operate a forklift to move goods within the warehouse, if certified.
Help manage returns and loan stock items
- Process returned goods and manage temporary stock items, ensuring proper documentation and storage.
Other tasks such as Superuser for the AX system (Diamond Goods)
- Take on a specialist role in using the AX system, offering support and guidance to colleagues.
- Provide backup support for Diamond Goods operations during staff absences.
Other ad hoc duties associated to needs of the business
- Flexibly support other warehouse or business tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Some experience in a warehouse, logistics, or production environment is helpful but not essential
- Willingness to learn and follow processes
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Comfortable using computers for basic data entry
- Reliable, punctual, and a good team player
- Physically fit and able to lift and move items safely
