Newmont APAC Operations are located in Western Australia, the Northern Territory, New South Wales and Papua New Guinea, with roles in operations, projects, corporate support and exploration. APAC Business Unit Support is provided from our offices in Brisbane, Subiaco and Melbourne.

Your Impact
You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a culture of respect across Newmont’s Australia and Papua New Guinea operations. By developing and delivering impactful inclusion, diversity, and leadership development programs, you’ll help build the capability of our leaders and foster workplaces where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute.
As part of our team, you will
Design and deliver inclusion, diversity, and leadership development programs that foster a respectful culture and high performance across Australia and Papua New Guinea. This is a strategic, hands-on role where you’ll work with leaders, teams, and communities to close capability gaps, elevate underrepresented voices, and deliver measurable impact.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to country-specific inclusion, diversity, and leadership development strategies aligned with global objectives.
- Assess workplace diversity and inclusion gaps and recommend targeted interventions.
- Plan and deliver training programs and initiatives to foster inclusion and diversity and reduce harmful behaviour in the workplace.
- Partner with Health & Safety teams to identify and mitigate psychosocial hazards.
- Build and maintain relationships with external organisations to benchmark best practices and integrate insights into programs.
- Support community initiatives and partner with external organisations to achieve shared goals for change.
- Support Business Resource Groups (BRGs) and initiatives that elevate underrepresented voices.
- Develop and implement nationalisation and localisation plans in Papua New Guinea.
- Measure and report on the impact of inclusion, diversity, and leadership development initiatives, providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with country-specific diversity, anti-discrimination laws, and enterprise governance standards.

About You
You are an experienced and values-driven professional who is passionate about creating respectful and high-performing workplaces. With a strong background in inclusion, diversity, and leadership development, you bring the insight, resilience, and influence needed to drive meaningful cultural change across complex and operational environments. You are equally comfortable leading initiatives independently and collaborating across diverse teams and stakeholders to deliver sustainable outcomes. Your curiosity, strategic thinking, and empathy enable you to connect with others, challenge constructively, and turn ideas into action.
You will also bring:
- Proven problem-solving ability, with the capacity to analyse data, identify patterns, and make informed decisions in dynamic and challenging contexts.
- Extensive knowledge of inclusion and diversity principles, leadership development strategies, and change management and communication practices.
- Formal qualifications in Organisational Development, Human Resources, Social Performance, Psychology, or a related field.
- Technical proficiency in program design and governance, project and change management, facilitation, and administration.
- Strong self-awareness and the ability to adapt your approach to suit different audiences and circumstances.
- A collaborative mindset, fostering positive working relationships, navigating differing perspectives, and influencing outcomes effectively.
- Resilience and perseverance, with a commitment to achieving long-term inclusion and leadership goals, even in complex or evolving environments.
- Experience working in or exposure to Papua New Guinea, or an understanding of its unique social and cultural landscape, would be highly regarded.
- Experience engaging with Business Resource Groups or similar committees, and an ability to advocate for initiatives, secure buy-in, and manage budgets.
- A background in heavy industry or operational environments, with a track record of implementing leadership development initiatives that deliver measurable impact.
Your work environment
Our Brisbane-based team enjoys flexible Monday to Friday work arrangements, balancing time between the office and working from home. Our modern Fortitude Valley office is conveniently located near public transport and local cafés. Travel to site operations and other interstate Newmont hubs will be required to support the broader team.
