Design Manager - Execution (Data Centre)
Job description: During the execution phase, you will act as the technical authority overseeing the development of studies for major industrial building projects with high technical complexity. On a large-scale Data Centre project, you will lead and coordinate the refinement and production of execution studies for all trades, ensuring integration of:
- Operational constraints (health and safety);
- Environmental requirements;
- Technical risks;
- Contractual obligations;
- The financial framework agreed with the client.
You will establish and manage the study production structure, including validation workflows, visa management, interface coordination, and overall project synthesis.
During the commercial phase, supported by a team of specialised experts, you will serve as the primary technical point of contact for the sales team and ensure the coherence and quality of technical proposals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assembling the technical price and coordinating inputs from study contributors;
- Coordinating external engineering firms as well as design and costing studies;
- Supervising and harmonising design work carried out internally and/or by external partners;
- Proposing technical optimisations and alternative solutions to improve project value;
- Acting as the interface between the Sales Manager and the Technical Team;
- Contributing to the technical setup of the project: programming, consultant selection, and techno-economic strategy;
- Participating in technical clarification meetings with the client in support of the Sales team;
- Preparing the study budget and schedule;
- Producing the preliminary construction cost estimate;
- Coordinating techno-economic studies and managing interfaces;
- Preparing and delivering the transfer file to the WORKS Team once the project is awarded.
