Job Description:
As a Control Engineer, you will oversee the safe coordination of electrical work on controlled systems. You will be responsible for authorizing equipment release, coordinating system switching, and maintaining safety oversight across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain control of electrical system status across multiple projects.
- Authorize switching operations and energisation activities.
- Record plant/apparatus release and restoration for audit purposes.
- Coordinate with SAPs to issue Safety Documents and confirm isolations.
- Review risk assessments and live working justifications.
- Respond to site emergencies and implement safety measures.
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures and boundaries.
- Act as central authority for inter-company safety coordination.
- Maintain operational logs and SCADA records.
- Provide technical support to SAPs, APs, and Testing Engineers.
Requirements
- Recognised electrical engineering qualifications.
- Strong experience with HV/LV systems and operations.
- Formally nominated as a Control Engineer by an Authorising Engineer.
- Understanding of legal and procedural safety obligations.
- Proven ability in safety management and operational coordination.
