Specialist, HSE Inspection III
Job Purpose
Specialist HSE Inspection is responsible for conducting all safety activities at Maaden Gold mine sites and facilities.
Key tasks include administering the Maaden safety program, ensuring the implementation of program standards, providing technical advice and service to all departments with respect to hazard identification, and conducting regular safety inspections.
Kye Accountability
- Conducts inspections, audits, and hazard assessments at mine sites to identify unsafe conditions. Monitors employee compliance with safety rules and regulations and provides written reports on any violations.
- Investigates all incidents, including injury and non-injury accidents, determines root causes, and submits recommendations to relevant department heads.
- Ensure contractor personnel are fully aware of company safety and environmental regulations and follow up to confirm compliance.
- Reviews and analyzes accident statistics, recommending actions to improve safety performance and reduce incident frequency. Distributes safety communication materials and promotional content to strengthen safety awareness among employees.
- Represents the Safety Section in committee meetings and participates in emergency response operations as required.
- Coordinates with Internal Audit (Finance) on incidents involving equipment or property damage that may require insurance claims.
- Prepares and submits weekly and monthly safety reports to designated stakeholders.
- Monitors mine sites for existing and emerging safety issues, recommending corrective actions to responsible personnel when violations or incidents occur.
- Collaborates with general foremen and superintendents to identify potential safety risks and implement corrective measures.
Develops and promotes a safety culture strategy for the mine site
Minimum Experience – Qualification
B.A. or B.Sc. in Mining, Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Five (5) years safety experience, preferably in the mining or oil and gas industries.
