Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the General Supervisor, Exploration, you will be part of the Exploration Geology Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
- Design, monitor and manage all aspects of underground exploration diamond drill programs.
- Manage drilling contractor to ensure programs are completed as designed and in accordance with the current contract specifications.
- Manage drill program budgets to ensure programs are completed within planned budget.
- Develop and regularly update drill schedules that are integrated into underground development and mining plans.
- Collaborate with exploration, production and core logging personnel to generate exploration targets and update geological models.
- Work closely with the Resource Team to continuously update and optimize resource models.
- Ensure that Company QA/QC protocols are adhered to during the completion of drill programs and that data is validated prior to use in resource models.
- Collaborate with Operations Team and monitor advance of exploration development to effectively schedule drill programs as per budget plan.
- Provide data input to management for use in regular internal reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology. Or any other relevant tertiary education in geology;
- 3+ years of experience in Exploration Geology;
- Proficiency with 3D geological software;
- Experience in an underground mining environment is considered an asset.
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4/3 (Monday to Thursday) or 5/2 (Monday to Friday) schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
