The position will be on an 8:6 (12-hour day) roster, FIFO from Perth or based residentially.

About the role
The Underground Paste Superintendent is responsible for leading the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of paste fill activities across Mungari. This includes accountability for three paste plants, contractor performance, and close collaboration with Engineering, Geotechnical, and Mining Superintendents to ensure paste operations support underground production schedules and business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading paste operations to ensure consistent availability and quality
- Managing contractor performance and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards
- Aligning paste delivery with underground stope turnaround and SRF targets
- Driving continuous improvement in plant efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness
- Collaborating across departments to remove systemic roadblocks and support production goals
- Coaching and mentoring paste plant teams and contractors
About you
You will bring proven underground mining experience, ideally with exposure to paste fill operations and contractor management. You’ll also have:
- WA Underground Supervisor’s Certificate (mandatory)
- First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate (highly regarded)
- Experience in underground mining and/or paste fill operations
- Strong leadership and contractor management skills
- Knowledge of paste fill systems and underground mining methods
- A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
- A passion for safety and continuous improvement
