Job Summary
The IT Superintendent is responsible and accountable for managing the daily operations of IT infrastructure, systems, and related technology support services across the district. This role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of technology services across the organization, while leading a team of IT professionals and collaborating with other departments to align technology initiatives with business goals. We are seeking for a candidate with a proven track record of delivering results aligned with the advanced skillset required for this senior role.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and monitor IT operations including networks, servers, applications, and end-user support.
- Service Delivery & SLA Management:
Ensure end-user support services are delivered within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs), maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational reliability.
Oversee and ensure completion of regular system backups and data recovery procedures, maintaining business continuity and compliance with data retention policies.
Supervise and mentor IT staff, ensuring high performance, professional development, and adherence to service standards.
Lead or support IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and implementations, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
Ensure systems and data are secure and compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for procurement, support, and maintenance of IT assets.
- Incident & Problem Management:
Oversee resolution of major incidents and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
Assist in developing and managing the IT budget, including forecasting and cost control.
- Operational Technology (OT) Collaboration:
Work closely with Operational Technology (OT) teams to ensure seamless integration and uninterrupted operations across IT and OT environments.
Collaborate with business units to understand technology needs and deliver effective solutions.
Experience
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management
- Experience with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, M365, PaloAlto, ServiceNow)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and risk management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strategic thinking with a focus on continuous improvement
