The Senior Manager, Technology Infrastructure & Operations plays a pivotal role in shaping IAMGOLD’s technological foundation and driving innovation. Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Technology, this Toronto-based leader will be a key member of the Global Technology Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing the organization’s technology infrastructure and operations. This includes ensuring the availability, scalability, security, and performance of all systems, networks, and services. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic vision, hands-on leadership, operational expertise, and deep technical knowledge to this dynamic role.
In this position, you will lead a diverse team of IT professionals, vendors, and partners to maintain and evolve a resilient technology infrastructure that aligns with business objectives and supports operational excellence. Your strategic planning skills will shine as you design and implement infrastructure strategies that meet both current and future needs, ensuring risk management, business continuity, and scalability. You will establish and enforce policies, create training programs, and make key recommendations on emerging technologies and products.
Collaboration will be central to your success, as you work with senior leaders and stakeholders to identify technology priorities and communicate changes in the infrastructure roadmap. You will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of core systems, manage daily operations to ensure high performance and reliability, and drive efficiency through best practices, automation, and optimization of hybrid cloud environments. Delivering exceptional end-user support and implementing service management frameworks to enhance customer satisfaction will also be key areas of focus.
As a champion of security and compliance, you will partner with cybersecurity teams to mitigate risks, enforce IT security policies, and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations. Additionally, you will lead vendor negotiations, manage contracts, and develop budgets to optimize resources and ensure value.
Your leadership will extend to fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within your team. By mentoring and guiding infrastructure engineers, system administrators, and network specialists, you will drive performance and alignment with organizational goals.
Job Qualifications
What You Need to Succeed
This role is best suited to a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in infrastructure and operations, including at least 10 years in a senior managerial role. Expertise in enterprise IT infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, and hybrid environments is essential, as is a proven ability to lead in complex settings. A strong understanding of IT security practices, regulatory compliance, and modern service delivery frameworks like ITIL will position you for success. Industry experience in mining, oil and gas, or other asset-intensive sectors is an asset.
