About the Job:
The Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for identifying, developing, and communicating best practices to support a safe and compliant work environment. This role will lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing operational risks and enhancing health and safety awareness across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and promote health and safety best practices to support operational excellence
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on minimizing risks in work processes.
- Conduct and assist with risk assessments to proactively identify, evaluate, and control workplace hazards
- Collaborate with teams across departments to raise safety awareness and encourage safe behaviors
- Support implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions stemming from incident investigations and audits
- Participate in field observations and provide coaching to reinforce safety standards
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and exposure control methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate training and engage diverse teams
- In-depth knowledge of 30 CFR Parts 45, 47, 48, 50, 56, 58, and 62 as they relate to MSHA regulatory compliance
