As Part of Our Team, You Will
• Execute analytical chemistry testwork and accurately report data
• Mix dry chemicals used for fluxing, including lead oxide
• Weigh and prepare samples for analysis with a high level of precision
• Load furnaces, pour fusions, and cupel buttons
• Weigh dores and prills and perform parting of dores
• Operate flame AA instrumentation to analyze gold in solution
• Maintain clear, detailed, and organized laboratory records, including procedures, directions, and priorities
• Order laboratory consumables and maintain appropriate inventory levels
• Handle hazardous materials responsibly, including proper sample disposal
• Assess, update, and follow SOPs and JHAs to ensure safe and compliant operations
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
• Formal education or training in Chemistry or a related science discipline
• Advanced knowledge of analytical laboratory methods, including fire assay and elemental analysis
• Demonstrated experience with sample preparation, furnace operations, and wet chemistry techniques
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality
• Experience handling hazardous materials in a laboratory environment
• Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
Your Work Environment
This role is based in a laboratory setting and operates as an individual contributor, supporting multidisciplinary technical teams across metallurgy, mineralogy, and process engineering. A strong safety culture, procedural discipline, and collaboration are essential to success in this environment.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $71,094-87,822. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
