Your impact
Reporting to the Global Head, Infrastructure and Technology Delivery, in the position of Director, Digital West you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for technology services across Newmont’s Boddington and Tanami mine operations in Australia.
In this integral leadership position you will partner with Boddington and Tanami site leadership and technology teams to ensure secure, reliable and integrated technology operations, develop two-year technology roadmaps aligned with site and business priorities and strengthen stakeholder engagement at General Manager and Managing Director levels.
As part of our team you will
- Oversee Boddington and Tanami site-based teams who manage end user computer networks and mine technology systems
- Build strong relationships with general managers, managing directors and site leadership teams
- Act as trusted advisor on technology strategy and operations across the operations
- Develop and own two-year technology roadmaps for each site in collaboration with corporate and site leadership to ensure alignment of business unit, digital and corporate strategies
- Ensure consistency, reliability and security of technology operations across the sites including critical mine and fleet management systems
- Oversee major technology programs and projects across the sites and ensure successful execution, alignment to business value and safe delivery within budget
- Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, leverage global and business unit capabilities and maximise site-level resources
- Ensure adherence to corporate technology strategy, architecture, standards and governance across the sites
- Actively represent Boddington and Tanami sites in business unit leadership forums and regional technology leadership teams and ensure local priorities are reflected in regional and global strategies
- Mentor and develop site-based leads, ensure they are empowered and capable of delivering high performance and able to effectively lead their respective teams
- Oversee performance of multi-disciplinary, geographically distributed teams, ensure role clarity and definition and monitor delegation and accountability for service delivery at site level.
Prerequisites for your success in the role
- Bachelor of Computer Science or similar, with a post-graduate qualification
- Significant technology management experience in a global geographically dispersed mine operating entity
- Team leadership across global technology services and resources i.e. Global IT Service Desk and site-specific IT Service Delivery teams
- Proficient in integration and optimisation of technology systems in mine operations that maintain seamless operations and compatibility
- Technology project delivery experience from inception to completion including planning, resource management, execution and realising benefits
- Ability to execute technology security protocols in line with mining industry best practice, standards and regulations
- Knowledge of mine operations safety and risk mitigation requirements
- Mine operations technology infrastructure management expertise across server operations, network management and telecommunication systems
- Ability to develop and implement strategic technology initiatives customised for site-specific operations that align with corporate objectives and will improve efficiencies

Your work environment
This permanent position will be offered on a flexible work arrangement based out of Newmont’s Perth capital city office in Subiaco, Western Australia. It is anticipated you will be a seasoned professional accustomed to working from home while utilising Newmont’s Perth office as required to be effective in your role.
The position will require flexibility to travel to Newmont office and/or mine site operation locations as required.
