Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

Your Impact
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor you will be providing support to Trades personnel in the installation, maintenance and fault finding of electrical infrastructure in the Fixed Plant, Mine, and associated areas. You will assist in ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently through quality and effective work.
As part of our team, you will
- Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with established safe work procedures and systems
- Assist Electrical trades with manual handling, collecting supplies from stores, housekeeping and assisting as directed by the trade's personnel
- Operate IT (interchangeable telehandler) for UG Electrical to complete tasks
- Cleaning of machinery, components, and subparts, and assisting in the operation of the Electrical tool stores
- Liaise with warehouse and main tool store personnel to obtain necessary parts and tooling including unloading & checking deliveries
- Use SAP to complete time confirmations and raise notification promptly with the required level of detail
- Execute assigned tasks under the direction of the electrical tradesperson, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- Previous underground mining experience (Desirable)
- A commitment to safety and the ability to follow all safety policies and procedures
- A current C class manual drivers' licence
- A current MR class drivers' licence (Desirable)
- High Risk Licences (rigging, dogging, forklift, and elevated work platform)
- Nationally accredited Working at heights and Confined space (Desirable)
- SAP experience (Desirable)
- A Senior First Aid (Desirable)
- Mask fit ready
