Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Welding Supervisor, you will be part of Mobile Maintenance Department. You will be responsible for providing support to the Mobile Maintenance team by being accountable for directing the workforce in daily maintenance and or repair for all mining and mobile equipment, while ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory procedures. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Must be able to read and interpret inside and outside micrometer readings and have a good understanding of measurement techniques, reading of drawings and tolerances is required;
- Operating manual or semi-automatic flame cutting, brazing, and soldering equipment;
- Performing structural welding repairs to mining equipment and parts;
- Designing and fabricating metal/components as required;
- Properly follow Company’s policies and the Occupational Health & Safety Regulations for safe working procedures and environment;
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work area;
- Leading and coaching team members in the achievement of maintenance safety and productivity targets;
- Ensure that safety issues are reported to the supervisor and promptly remedied.
What You Need To Succeed
- Ontario provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) trade certificate is preferred;
- 10 years’ experience in a maintenance capacity;
- 2-5 years’ experience in a supervisory and/or lead hand role;
- A general understanding of computers; Microsoft & Outlook;
- Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of employees;
- Experience with open pit mining equipment, with electrical shovels and drills being a strong asset;
- Experience working at a remote work site is an asset.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
