The role in a nutshell
In this role, you will apply your project controls skills to support the Legacy Assets group in delivering a range of projects of varying size and value. You will be part of a close?knit team, working collaboratively to ensure successful outcomes across the group’s portfolio of closure projects.
More specifically, you will be required to :
- Work closely with Project Managers to address and support all project control matters;
- Compile and analyze cost and schedule data, producing comprehensive project reports on a monthly basis;
- Detect possible schedule and budget risks early and prepare mitigation plans;
- Conduct Earned Value Analysis to assess project performance;
- Create and modify report templates and forms to enhance reporting efficiency;
- Monitor regional reports and submissions, offering constructive feedback;
- Model capital forecasting by integrating cost and schedule information at various project stages;
- Assist in the implementation of the Capital Management Framework;
- Maintain project control records and systems to ensure compliance with auditing standards;
- Interface with the project management team, finance, and operational assets departments to review project deliverable costs and support external audits.
Do you have what it takes?
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Commerce or related field or applicable experience;
- A minimum of 3+ years of direct experience in project controls ideally gained in a professional services company / consulting office / industrial company in a similar role;
- Experience controlling multi-functional projects and supporting multiple projects;
- Good knowledge of Project Controls concepts such as project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, and closeout;
- Able to build positive relationships with stakeholders and coordinate alignment across diverse groups;
- Keen attention to detail;
- Proficient with PM Systems such as Primavera, MS Project;
- Knowledge of project management (PMI) concepts;
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills and able to deliver results;
- Working knowledge of Power BI and database management tools would be an asset;
Language: English (Written & Verbal).
Travel: Infrequent
The expected base salary for this position is $70,000 to $100,000 based on competencies, skills, and qualifications and aligned with internal equity. The incumbent will also be eligible to participate in a variable compensation plan (bonus) (note: payment of variable compensation is subject to the terms and conditions of the variable compensation plan and is not guaranteed).
