Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario. The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.

About The Role
Position: Site Services Carpenter
Shift: 7/7 - 12 hour days
Position Reports to: Site Services Shift Supervisor
Position Overview
The role of the Site Services Carpenter is to carry out the maintenance on, and installation of Site Services Infrastructure. Ensure all activities are carried out in conformance with New Gold’s policies and procedures including cultural, safety and environmental.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of Site Services mobile equipment, shop tools, and hand tools.
- Work in confined spaces such as in crawlspaces, attics, etc.
- Service and install doors and automatic door closers.
- Flooring installation.
- Concrete forming, pouring, and finishing.
- Window repairs and installation
- Mould remediation as required.
- Perform QA/QC checks for all work performed.
- Develop procedures as required.
- Perform general duties assigned.
- Assist other trades within the Site Services Department.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Carpenter Ticket required.
- Scaffolding ticket considered a strong asset.
- Class G Driver’s License Required.
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Working at Heights Certification.
The anticipated salary for this position will be between $120,000 to 125,000.
