About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

About the Role
We are seeking an Equipment Condition Monitoring Technician to support the reliability and performance of fixed plant assets at Cadia.
This role is critical in the early identification of equipment health issues through proactive condition monitoring, helping to reduce unplanned downtime and optimise maintenance strategies across both surface and underground operations.
You will work closely with maintenance, reliability and operations teams, contributing to safe, efficient and reliable plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine vibration data collection on critical surface and underground equipment
- Perform regular inspections to assess equipment condition and operational performance
- Apply a range of condition monitoring techniques, including vibration analysis, thermal imaging, oil analysis and ultrasonic testing
- Undertake detailed diagnostic testing to identify faults and abnormalities
- Analyse condition monitoring data to identify trends, risks and emerging failure modes
- Support predictive and proactive maintenance decision-making
- Accurately document findings through reports, emails and system entries
- Communicate equipment condition, risks and recommendations to maintenance, reliability and operations teams
- Work collaboratively with trades, engineers and planners to coordinate maintenance activities
- Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve equipment issues efficiently
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability
- Stay up to date with advancements in condition monitoring technologies and industry best practice
About you
- Previous experience in maintenance or condition monitoring roles within industrial or mining environments
- Condition monitoring certifications (e.g. Vibration Analysis Category I or II, Thermography)
- A strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment operation and maintenance practices
- Experience using condition monitoring tools and interpreting diagnostic data
- Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and anomalies
- High attention to detail with strong documentation skills
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Practical problem-solving capability in an operational environment
- Familiarity with condition monitoring and data analysis software
This is a permanent residential position based in Orange, New South Wales, and will suit applicants currently living in Orange or the surrounding region. The anticipated work pattern is 5/2 or 5/2–4/3. Applicants must have full and unrestricted working rights in Australia.
