Wood Mining & Minerals business is seeking a Quality Manager at our project site in Saskatchewan to work on a rotational basis.
The Role
Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for leading quality management activities during site execution. This role ensures that construction work is performed in accordance with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, approved procedures, and project quality objectives. The Project Quality Manager oversees the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS), manages the site quality team, and ensures the effective delivery of inspection, testing, surveillance, and audit programs to support safe, compliant, and successful project execution.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
- Establish, maintain, control, and continuously improve the Project Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure quality requirements are clearly understood and aligned with contractual, regulatory, and project objectives and embedded into construction execution.
- Develop and maintain the Project Quality Plans.
- Manage changes to the management system, ensuring risks are assessed and mitigated.
- Provide oversight and governance of contractors’ QC programs, ensuring procedures, ITPs, and inspection processes meet project standards.
- Resource, manage, and mentor the Project Quality Team; ensure qualifications and responsibilities are clearly defined.
- Provide technical guidance, including specialized support in welding, NDT, and other critical disciplines.
- Monitor equipment and materials for suitability, compliance, and proper care/custody/preservation.
- Perform surveillance to verify contractor activities are effective and fully documented.
- Conduct audits of construction activities and contractor performance and oversee NCR management.
- Act as the focal point for third ‑ party audits and assessments.
- Witness key inspections and hold points and verify compliance with ITPs.
- Validate that Inspection and Test Records (ITRs) are completed and approved.
- Manage receipt, compilation, and retention of ITRs and supporting information for progressive turnover.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of contractor turnover records, ITRs, and as ‑ built documentation.
- Manage care, custody, and control of QA documentation required for turnover.
- Update and manage punch lists and verify closure of corrective actions.
- Support mechanical completion activities, turnover, pre ‑ commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Track and report quality performance using verifiable metrics, providing regular updates to the client and internal stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with Project Team, attend project meetings, advising on progress of quality deliverables and open issues.
- Promote and communicate learnings, reporting any deficiencies in action tracking systems.
- Support communication and resolution of issues between Wood, contractors, and the client.
- Promote a strong quality culture and drive continuous improvement across all site functions.

Expected
- 10+ years relevant experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Degree/diploma in Quality, Engineering, Construction/Project Management, or equivalent experience.
- Lead Auditor certification (essential).
- Professional memberships (CQI, ASQ, PMI) and certifications such as CMQ/OE, CQA, CQE, API, NACE, AWS (desirable).
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
- Experience in heavy industrial construction; nuclear industry experience an asset.
- Strong understanding of QMS, ISO 9001, industry codes and standards and ability to interpret drawings, specifications and other requirements.
- Skilled in inspection, testing, auditing, nonconformance management, turnover and completions.
- Experience using continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
- Experience working within integrated project teams and managing relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Completions Management Software
