About The Role
Join our inclusive Maintenance Planning & Engineering (MP&E) function at Rio Tinto, where your customer engagement skills and planning expertise will be recognised and developed in the role of Planner.
In this FIFO role, you’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, responsible for creating and managing executable work orders aligned to the maintenance strategy. You’ll work a 5 2 / 4 3 roster at our Tom Price Operations, contributing directly to safe, reliable and efficient asset performance.
Reporting to the Superintendent Planning & Engineering, your key responsibilities will include
- Identifying and validating notifications and work requests to consolidate known maintenance requirements
- Planning maintenance activities to ensure work can be executed safely, efficiently and effectively in line with maintenance tactics
- Providing asset scheduling inputs to optimise cost, efficiency and resource utilisation
- Preparing maintenance activities by ensuring labour, materials and equipment are planned and available for execution
- Completing post‑execution activities and maintenance administration to support ongoing CMMS data quality and system improvements
- Collecting and analysing work management data to support continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You’ll bring a strong safety mindset and a collaborative approach, along with
- A demonstrated commitment to your own safety and the safety of others
- Experience in maintenance planning and/or scheduling, ideally within heavy mobile equipment environments
- The ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders
- Strong computer skills, with experience in SAP and Prometheus considered an advantage
- A current C‑Class Driver’s Licence (manual)

Where you’ll be working
Tom Price is located in the central Pilbara region, west of Karijini National Park and is our original Pilbara mine, currently employing residential and fly-in fly-out employees.
