IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12
- Degree or diploma in procurement or equivalent qualification in related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- 6 years relevant experience in procurement role within a mining environment / department.
- Buying and expediting experience across the full spectrum of goods & services applicable to the mining industry.
- Analysing tenders and negotiating with suppliers.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, for Ivanplats, including sourcing vendors, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that appropriate systems are in place to support the procurement process and procedures
- Research, monitor and ensure compliance with the South African government regulations, including but not limited to the Mining Charter, BBBEE codes etc.
- Report on targets set by the Supply Chain Manager and explain variances and recommend improvements
- Provide leadership to the team, ensuring a work environment that is conducive to the achievement of the function’s targets and where employees can reach their full potential.
