About Mount Milligan Mine
Located approximately 155 kilometers northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a full-time
Administrator, Human Resources to join our Mount Milligan Mine HR team.
This is a camp-based onsite position with a schedule of 4 days of work and 3 days of rest, 10 hours days, with some schedule flexibility based on business operational needs.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager the Administrator, Human Resources will be primarily responsible for providing administrative support and assistance to the HR department. The role requires a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and professionalism.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Creating and managing accurate digital & physical files for all employees, ensuring they are up to date.
- Checking and distributing documents and correspondence, as well as, receiving, sorting and distributing incoming mail.
- Ensuring company property assigned to employees is tracked and managed. (i.e. lockers, coveralls).
- Collaborating with the recruitment process where required.
- Maintaining and reviewing departmental information including organizational charts & phone lists.
- Assisting the HR team with planning, coordinating, and executing company events, employee recognition, and various projects as required.
- Answering employees' queries about HR-related issues.
- Coordinating and tracking the probationary review process.
- Performing general office management and organization procedures.
- Assisting the HR team members, where appropriate.
About You
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- 3+ years of HR administrative experience within a confidential environment.
- Experience in the mining industry is a strong asset.
- Experience and adaptability working within a very fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Proactive, high degree of initiative and an excellent team player.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working in a camp environment.
