Consultant (Surface Water) with
SRK Consulting in Cardiff (Hybrid).

About The Opportunity
We’re looking for a
consultant (or someone ready for that next step) to join our UK Water Group as a
Surface Water Specialist. You Will:
- Contribute to hydrological and hydraulic assessments (rainfall–runoff, flood, drainage, stormwater).
- Own the surface water components of multidisciplinary project studies.
- Support civil design teams to deliver robust, sustainable and cost-effective water solutions.
- Analyse data, work with hydrological/hydraulic models, and produce clear technical reports.
- Represent SRK in client meetings, workshops and site visits in the UK and overseas.
There will be opportunities for
international travel, including visits to mining and industrial sites.
Essential Requirements
About you - Essential:
- Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, Hydrology or related discipline.
- Exposure to surface water/hydrology (e.g. flood or drainage assessments, stormwater or catchment planning, climate / climate change analysis).
- Strong analytical skills and comfortable working with data and models.
- Clear communicator with good technical writing skills.
- Some coding/scripting (e.g. Python, R) and an interest in AI/automation.
Desirable But Not Essential
- Experience with tools like HECHMS, HECRAS or similar.
- Hydraulic infrastructure design experience.
- Mining experience and/or a second language.
