Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
To execute and maintain an effective ore mining and movement process to ensure that only the right ore materials are delivered to the mill.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist with ore marking and grade control activities
- Support sampling, data collection, and logging
- Maintain accurate records and communication with operations teams
- Accurately mark ore and waste boundaries in accordance with grade control instructions
- Assist in ensuring minimal ore dilution and loss
- Verify that mining follows planned ore outline
- Support geologists in ore body identification and delineation
- Assist in monitoring ore quality and consistency
- Identify and report deviations from expected grades
- Work closely with mining operations teams to guide ore extraction
- Communicate ore boundaries and instructions clearly to operators
- Support alignment between planning and execution
- Conduct routine underground or open-pit inspections
- Verify compliance with ore control procedures
- Identify risks such as misclassification of ore and waste
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Certificate of Secondary education (Form 4)
- Valid Tanzanian Driving License
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum of 3 to 5 yrs working in a mining related environment
- Experience supporting ore marking, sampling, and grade control activities
- Exposure to underground or open-pit mining operations
- Experience of working with geology or mining teams in production environments
- Practical experience in sample collection, handling, and logging
- Experience assisting with ore/waste identification and control processes
- Familiarity with basic mining plans and ore body interpretation
- Experience working in shift-based or field-based roles
- Exposure to data recording, reporting, and basic documentation
- Experience adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards
