Role Purpose
The Chief Financial Officer drives financial performance through the provision of financial and management information and business performance analysis to senior stakeholders, while ensuring strong financial controls, effective governance, and robust financial and commercial processes through the implementation of appropriate policies, procedures, and guidelines. As a member of the DBGSS leadership team, the CFO contributes to overall leadership, strategic direction‑setting, and the development of the De Beers Midstream, providing continuous evaluation, support, and challenge of DBGSS performance and strategic objectives as a key financial business partner to the DBGSS Executive Vice President and executive team. The role is responsible for developing and implementing effective financial KPIs across the Midstream business units, providing strategic financial input into the growth of Midstream programmes, and representing De Beers on the Boards of joint venture companies DTC Botswana and Namibia DTC, as well as acting as Board Director for DBGSS, DBHB, and other wholly owned De Beers Group companies.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance financial oversight of revenue and cost optimisation, operational decisions and profit opportunities
- Coordinate and control accounting functions, governance and risk management frameworks on a regional basis
- Provide financial and commercial analysis for appraisal of new Midstream opportunities
- Overall control of financial transactions including audit, treasury, tax compliance, AML and CFT systems
- Apply governance and compliance knowledge to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory compliance
- Lead development of financial reports and controls, escalate emerging risks
- Lead budget and forecast processes and formulate financial targets
- Build people and organisational capability and culture
- Develop and implement financial KPIs for Midstream business units
- Represent De Beers financial interests on Boards
- Oversee DBGSS administration function
Qualifications (Essential)
- Undergraduate financial qualification (Bachelor’s / Honours or equivalent)
- CIMA / ACA / ACCA / ACMA or equivalent
- Proven track record in roles of similar complexity

- Senior leadership experience in Finance
- Financial and business planning and analysis

Eligibility Criteria
This role is open to all suitably qualified individuals, and relocation support will be provided where required. Preference will be given to Botswana citizens, in line with the Botswana‑based, place‑anchored nature of the role. This is not a rotational, commuting, or fly‑in/fly‑out position. Travel requirements are limited, with customer exposure primarily in South Africa, UK, Botswana, Namibia, India and the Middle East.
