Job Summary
Greenstone Gold Mines is seeking a Senior Contract Specialist. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Contract Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the contracting process for the operation and the annual sustaining capital construction projects. The Senior Contract Specialist will oversee contracts typically ranging from $1M to $20M. Responsibilities include contributing to contract strategies, preparing bidder pre-qualifications, developing bidder lists and bid documents, analyzing proposals, negotiating contracts, providing recommendations, and awarding contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a list of qualified bidders in accordance with Greenstone Gold Mines standards and procedures.
- Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs), incorporating professional input on scope, commercial criteria, health and safety, and environmental considerations to support various departments within Greenstone Gold Mines. Prepare complex requests for Proposals (RFP), request for Information (RFI) and complicated bid documents, facilitate commercial bid processes, evaluations of tender responses, chair pre-award meetings, finalize documentation required for the recommendation to award, issue recommendation and follow-up to ensure approval to award.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions of future, tendered and current vendors commercial engagements.
- Upon receiving approval to award, draft complex contracts and collaborate with Legal to ensure the inclusion of appropriate standard or non-standard provisions. Prepare formal contract documents for signature in compliance with Greenstone Gold Mines’ authority guidelines. Prepare modifications for various contractual actions to include, but not limited to, contracts, service purchase agreements, blanket purchase agreements, delivery contracts, and service purchase orders.
- For operating contracts, complete handovers to the contract owner responsible for the ongoing execution of the work. Manage contract lifecycle to streamline processes, reduce costs, and ensure efficiency.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies based on category spend analysis, risk assessment, and operational priorities.
- Maintain a contracts file for planning purposes and prosperity.
- For construction-related contracts, work closely with the projects team to administer the contractual execution of the contracts to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
- This position is primarily site-based, with a work rotation structured to accommodate both employee and employer needs.
Required Experience And Skill Set
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain and contracts within a large mining operation or mining project is considered an asset.

- Manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of document control practices.

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
