Grid Field Operations Netherlands (GFN)
The Project Execution department within Grid Field Operations Netherlands (GFO‑N) is responsible for the predictable, safe, and high-quality realization and decommissioning of assets, in line with the functional specifications defined by the Asset Manager.
Project Execution teams are fully accountable for the preparation and execution of projects within set boundaries of scope, time, quality, and budget.
Role Summary
As a Project Coordinator / Work Planner, you are responsible for ensuring that all preparatory activities are completed so that projects and operational works can start and finish smoothly, safely, and in accordance with agreements.
You act as the central point of coordination and control within the project team, where all project information comes together.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and reporting on integrated project quality across all project control aspects (GROTIK: Scope, Risk, Organization, Time, Information, Cost), acting as the “conscience” of the project team
- Supporting the Project Manager in preparing:
- Project management meetings
- Periodic progress and accountability meetings with the Lead
- Preparing and updating monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, including:
- Cashflow
- ETC (Estimate to Complete)
- EAC (Estimate at Completion)
- Substantiating deviations from the approved budget
- Preparing, maintaining, and updating project schedules to ensure contractual milestones and final commissioning dates are met
- Developing and maintaining internal resource planning per project and processing this in relevant systems
- Preparing, updating, and monitoring project risk registers
- Managing internal documentation together with the Document Controller, including:
- Contract documentation
- Requests for Change (RFC)
- Requests for Acceptance (RFA)
- Monitoring review and approval timelines with contractors
- Monitoring Owner-Supplied Goods (client-direct supplies) delivered to contractors
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- HBO-level education or equivalent working and thinking level
- 5–10 years of recent experience in roles such as:
- Work Planner
- Project Coordinator
- Project Controls Manager
- Experience in infrastructure or technically oriented organizations, preferably within the energy sector
Skills & Competencies
- Familiarity with project control systems for managing:
- Cost
- Planning
- Risk
- Documentation
- (Within the client: IFS, Primavera, ARM, Meridian)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities
- Professional, analytical, flexible, and able to work independently
- Strong stakeholder awareness and organizational sensitivity
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with:
- Project Managers
- Project team members
- Internal and external stakeholders
- Preferred (not mandatory):
- Experience with different contract types (Specifications / Bestek, UAV, UAV‑GC)
- Systems-Oriented Contract Management
- Project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or IPMA
- Full professional proficiency in Dutch and English (spoken and written), due to contractor communication requirements
Important Information
- Primary workplace schedule:
- 2 days per week in Hoogeveen (preferably Monday and Tuesday)
- 2 days per week in Eemshaven (Thursday mandatory)
- 1 day per week remote (home office)
