About Us
Fuerte Metals is a Vancouver-based exploration and development company advancing base and precious metals projects across the Americas. Our flagship asset, the 100%-owned Coffee Gold Project in Canada’s Yukon Territory, is a high-quality gold project progressing through final permitting and engineering in preparation for a construction decision. Alongside Coffee, Fuerte Metals maintains a portfolio of copper and gold assets in Chile and Mexico, supporting the company’s vision of building a diversified mining platform focused on responsible development, strong partnerships, and long-term value creation.
Purpose
This Role reports to VP Sustainability & External Relations and must deliver community engagement with Indigenous partners that supports successful project execution.
Accountabilities
- Draft, edit, and format high quality emails, memos, meeting minutes, stakeholder letters, and executive ready documents.
- Coordinate calendars, travel, and meeting logistics for the Sustainability and External Relations team while proactively anticipating needs and ensuring agendas, briefing materials, and follow ups are prepared and delivered on time.
- Manage invoices, expense reports, and support basic budget tracking.
- Coordinate internal approvals and document workflows in SharePoint and Teams while maintaining organized folders, templates, and version-controlled documents.
- Support internal team coordination by tracking action items, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Maintain and organize engagement records, databases, and documentation systems.
- Assist with community relations tasks, including community and First Nation engagement, communications, and reporting.
- Support preparation and formatting of reports, presentations, and engagement materials for stakeholder engagement.
- Support the development, implementation, and review of community related programs and partnership initiatives.
- Contribute to compliance with agreements, commitments, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to identifying opportunities to improve processes, tools, and reporting efficiency
Qualifications
- A certification or continuing education course in engagement or First Nations (e.g., Yukon University’s Yukon First Nations 101 course) is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Indigenous Studies, Environment, Social Sciences, or related field preferred
Skills & Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in an administrative, coordination, public affairs, government relations, or communications role (including experience during internships/co-ops).
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize effectively, and follow through without reminders.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear and concise audience appropriate messages and briefing notes.
- Demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships and handle sensitive interactions with discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI
Work Location & Conditions
- Location: Yukon Territories, Canada
- Remote based role with a preference for Yukon based candidates
- Standard 5-day work week
- Periodic travel to and across the Yukon and Vancouver required
