Role Overview
As
Project Document Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective control, tracking, and distribution of technical documents, drawings, and project correspondence throughout the project lifecycle. You will support the project team by maintaining accurate registers, managing document transmittals, and ensuring that the most current, approved documentation is readily available to internal teams, contractors, and suppliers. Working closely with engineering, project controls, contractors, and suppliers, you will help uphold document control standards and business continuity requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Document Control & Registration:
Accurately register documents into standard document control systems and maintain up-to-date records in accordance with naming conventions, revision controls, and project procedures.
Controlled Distribution
Ensure controlled copies of approved documents and drawings are distributed to appropriate project stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers in a timely manner.
Document Transmittals
Prepare, issue, receive, and log electronic document transmittals, ensuring full traceability and clear communication across the project team and external parties.
Deliverables Tracking
Assist in tracking engineering and supplier deliverables from issue through receipt, including monitoring progress through to project close-out and handover to operations.
Content Management System Support
Support the ongoing use, maintenance, and compliance of the corporate content management system to ensure consistent document management and business continuity.
Registers & Action Lists
Maintain accurate and current document registers and action lists to support task tracking, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
Project Coordination
Assist with the coordination of document management practices across the project, ensuring document control procedures, policies, and protocols are followed consistently.
What You Bring To The Table
- Previous experience in document control, ideally within construction, mining, or large capital projects.
- Strong understanding of document management and document control procedures.
- Experience working with document management systems, databases, and spreadsheets (experience with Unifier, SharePoint, or similar systems is an asset).
- High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date records.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with construction practices, standards, and technical documentation is considered an asset.

salary: $78,750 CAD - $133,850 CAD

The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
