About The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a
Student, Sustainability to join the Centerra Corporate team. This position is a hybrid role based at our
Toronto, ON office.
The Student, Sustainability will support the development and continuous improvement of the company’s sustainability reporting approach. This role is designed as a project-driven opportunity, where the student will conduct benchmarking, analyze industry standards, and deliver actionable insights to strengthen future reporting.
Working closely with the Sustainability team, the student will assess peer disclosures, evaluate alignment with leading frameworks, and contribute to a post-report evaluation that informs the evolution of the company’s reporting strategy.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Conduct structured benchmarking of peer mining company sustainability reports to identify emerging trends, leading practices, and key disclosure gaps.
- Support the evaluation of the latest Sustainability Report, identifying strengths, gaps, and opportunities across content, structure, and data presentation.
- Analyze alignment with leading reporting frameworks, and identify opportunities to enhance clarity, consistency, and comparability in future disclosures.
- Deliver a concise benchmarking report with clear, actionable recommendations to enhance the company’s disclosures.
- Perform other task as needed to support Sustainability team.
About You
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Business, Finance, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to review information from multiple sources and identify key trends and insights.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly summarize complex topics in a concise and easy-to-understand way.
- Interest in sustainability, ESG, or corporate reporting, with a basic understanding of reporting frameworks such as Sustainability Accounting Standards Board or International Sustainability Standards Board considered an asset.
- Ability to synthesize information into clear deliverables (e.g., summaries, presentations, or reports) with a focus on practical recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with an emphasis on creating clear and visually effective presentations.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, taking initiative and ownership of assigned projects.
