Job Summary:**
The Electrician II at Minera Panama S.A. is responsible for performing skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and components within the mining operation. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques to ensure the reliable and safe operation of electrical infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, conduits, fixtures, control devices, and other electrical equipment in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and electrical code.
* Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components, including inspections, testing, and cleaning to identify and address potential issues before they cause downtime.
* Diagnose and rectify electrical faults in a timely and efficient manner, using appropriate testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
* Execute electrical installations for new equipment and infrastructure, ensuring proper connection and functionality.
* Interpret and work from electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
* Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
* Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance and repair activities.
* Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and operations teams to minimize downtime and optimize electrical system performance.
* Identify and recommend improvements to electrical systems and processes.
* Participate in training programs to enhance electrical skills and knowledge.
Job Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or vocational training in electricity.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a qualified electrician, preferably in an industrial or mining environment.
* Proven ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
* Strong understanding of electrical theory, principles, and safety practices.
* Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes).
* Knowledge of local and national electrical codes and regulations.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and at heights.
* Physical fitness to perform duties requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
