Job Purpose
Support metal procurement activities by executing day‑to‑day purchasing of aluminum products and scrap, monitoring market trends, supporting sourcing strategies, and ensuring supplier compliance. The role contributes to cost‑effective sourcing, timely material availability, supplier performance management, and adherence to procurement policies while supporting scrap recycling and local content initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist in developing and implementing sourcing plans for metal procurement.
- Experienced in metal and/or scrap procurement.
- Execute day-to-day procurement activities for aluminum products, including UBC scrap and class scrap.
- Maintain awareness of aluminum scrap market trends to support competitive sourcing decisions.
- Identify and onboard approved suppliers in line with company compliance and ERP systems.
- Support initiatives to increase scrap recycling and local content engagement.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and pricing agreements based on LME benchmarks.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Track market updates and report on pricing trends, supply-demand balance, and recycling flows.
- Assist in risk assessment related to scrap quality, availability, and logistics.
- Apply cost analysis tools to support procurement decisions.
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and authority matrix.
- Assist in developing and implementing sourcing plans for metal procurement.
