About The Role
We are looking for a Shipping & Logistics Operator to support the safe and efficient running of the Shipping & Logistics department, contributing to critical material handling processes across site.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated, safety-focused and hands-on operator to work in a physically active role while building strong stakeholder relationships, operating on an R2 shift roster (12-hour day/night, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off) at Tiwai Point, Invercargill.
Reporting to the Crew Leader and working in a dynamic and safety-focused environment within the Shipping & Logistics team, you will be
- Engaging and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders across wharf operations
- Supporting material handling processes across key areas including Torbeds, Bath Plant, Metal Yard and bulk materials
- Operating heavy mobile plant including loaders, excavators, trucks, ship unloader and bath plant
- Operating additional plant and equipment as required across the department
- Driving improvement initiatives aligned with team and site priorities
- Collaborating with other departments to support operational outcomes
About You
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- A current Class 2 licence and forklift licence (Class 3, 4 or 5 advantageous)
- Previous experience operating heavy machinery in an industrial environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a proactive and autonomous approach
- A good level of physical fitness to perform manual tasks
